Red ‘n Rowdy Recap

The West finally got into the elimination game by knocking out the Nuggets and Lakers last night. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed in the Lakers, I really expected them to take this series to six games. Kobe has gone on record demanding more help this offseason. I am not informed enough of this year’s free-agent crop, but I will say that you might expect to see Kevin Garnett in Laker gold next season.

Tonight could be one helluva great night of playoff basketball with a twin bill of Western Conference match-ups. Two teams could go home tonight.

Dallas Mavericks @ Golden State Warriors
I’m not exactly sure how this is going to play out tonight. I’m expecting the Warriors to eliminate the Mavericks tonight based on the fact that their fans have proven to be adept at creating mass chaos for the visiting Mavs in this series. The X-Factor is the effect of the closing 15-0 run from Game 4 is going to have psychologically on this series. I can see Dallas finally waking up, or I can see a Golden State team hell bent on closing this series out after truly blowing an opportunity. This Warriors team is so fun to watch, and I would not want to be a team they were pissed at.

Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz
I’m scared to death to watch this game tonight. While I am only 29, I have to say that my heart isn’t as capable of taking the Rockets nail-biting playoff finishes anymore! This series will go down to who blinks first. Here’s how I see this series. Both the Rockets and the Jazz are due to win on the other team’s court. Houston has lost 20 of the last 22 games in Utah. Utah has been unable to close the deal in Houston during this series. I’m afraid the Jazz will win a Game 7 in Houston. That said, we really need the Rockets to come through tonight.

I’ll follow-up on both of these games tomorrow. Also, I will be pleading with you to stand up and cheer for the most entertaining team in the playoffs to win tomorrow night.
