Post Script: Layover at Pappas Burger

So now I am writing to you at 9:36, and I have just gotten word that my flight will be boarding/leaving around 10:30PM. For the record, my flight WAS due to leave at 7:00. Damn Mother Nature’s green hide for this evening!
I’m kidding. This has actually been a very entertaining evening at the airport; more time than I believe I have EVER spent in an airport terminal for one flight. The bar is now full of people trying to get to the fine city of Dallas. Many are drunk, myself (maybe), included. It is a motley crew waiting to board their planes to the Big D at Pappas Burger on the Hobby Airport concourse. However, this particular experience has elevated this little bar to my ONLY option when travelling Southwest.
Sidebar #4, I just checked the trusty radar at weather.com. This storm is part of a line that stretches from Oklahoma ALL-THE-WAY to Mexico. EFFING Me-hee-CO!!! I’ve NEVER seen a line of T-storms this long. WOW! So, with that in mind, I have decided to add to my adventurous journey this evening. I am seriously tempted to get a rousing cheer from the folks at the bar. At this point, we are ALL waiting for our flights to head north, and many of them are depending on yours truly to call up the radar in Big D, to determine when we’re getting the hell out of here!!! Sidebar #5, had I driven from work to Dallas, I would have arrived roughly thirty mintues ago.
Who cares? This Pinot Grigio is REALLY good. Did I mention that I am holding a free drink ticket for my upcoming(?) flight? SIDEBAR #6: Again, if you are not enjoying these posts as much as I am writing them, I’m not sure what more I can do for you at this point.
*DONG* 9:51, still in Houston, and ALLLLLLLLL’s Weh-LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
From this point on, this post will be brought to you by Glass Stone Pinot Grigio.
I’ll have to remember to find it for a future Cork Belly post.
Ok, going to run now. 10:04, hopefully I’ll leave soon. Watch Twitter for additional updates!
P.S. Man, this is a drunk group at Pappas Burger tonight!
